Button Clicks (legacy)

Button click goals are only recommended to track clicks that are not navigation or form submissions (e.g. as opening a modal), and are considered a legacy type for other use cases. Follow link and Page view goal types are recommended instead.

Set Goal in Visual Editor​

In the Visual Editor, set the main tab to Set Goal.

From the righthand menu, choose + Add goal event.

Click Goal

In the browser window, click the button (or element) to track as a goal event.

Repeat for all instances​

Every button considered a conversion when clicked should be added as an individual goal event. For example, if you have four "Sign up" CTAs on your site, add four goal events—one per button.
